Testimonials

"My partner says the difference in my reaction to their pain before and after the ART session is night and day. I feel way different too. When they would tell me they were in pain before we did ART I would usually get depressed, feel hopeless, and relive the traumatic event in my head for days. None of that has happened so far.. At one point this weekend, I said something positive about the event that I have never perceived that way before, or at least really believed what I was saying. My reaction this weekend made my partner feel supported and more comfortable sharing things with me in the future.I am just really psyched!"

"I had my first-ever ART session with Jacquie, and it was so much more impactful than I anticipated. I went in curious but unsure what to expect, and I was honestly blown away by how effective it was. Jacquie was wonderful. She made me feel immediately comfortable and safe, and guided the session with so much care, clarity, and presence. I felt supported the entire time. I left the session feeling lighter and more unstuck than I have in a long while. I highly recommend Jacquie, and ART in general, especially if you’re feeling stuck or like you’ve tried other approaches without quite getting the results you hoped for."

    ART FAQs

Are ART sessions done in person or via telehealth?

It is generally recommended that ART sessions be done in person, especially in the case of severe trauma. However, your location should not be a barrier to access. I’m happy to help you determine the best options for your particular situation during our consultation.

How does Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) work?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) focuses on the "how" of healing. It guides your brain to reprocess upsetting memories and images in a way that reduces or eliminates pain while retaining knowledge. No need to relive the trauma in all its details over and over. It's a fast-acting approach, with results often seen in just 1-5 sessions.

What is the difference between ART and EMDR?

ART and EMDR use some of the same mechanisms. However, ART tends to be more gentle, and research suggests that its effects are deeper and longer lasting than EMDR.  ART can be a good fit if you have tried EMDR and it didn’t feel like the right fit.

Is ART proven to work?

While ART is a newer modality, it is classified as evidence-based and research indicates it may be more effective than Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and prolonged exposure due to its increased precision. Patients are shown to experience continued progress even after treatment is complete.

Does ART have to happen on it's own or can it be incorporated into regular talk therapy?

ART sessions are designed to be completed on their own. Depending on your needs, goals, and timeline, we can focus solely on ART sessions, or alternate with talk therapy. We’ll discuss this as we begin our work together.

How long does an ART session take?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy sessions are structured to give you adequate time for meaningful processing and resolution. The length of each session depends on what we're working on and your individual needs. Unlike traditional therapy where sessions are typically 55 minutes, Accelerated Resolution Therapy art often works best when we have more time to complete the processing work without feeling rushed.

In my practice, I customize the session format based on your goals and what you're addressing. Some clients benefit from incorporating Accelerated Resolution Therapy into standard length sessions as part of our broader therapeutic work. Others find that dedicating longer blocks of time to Accelerated Resolution Therapy allows for more complete processing and resolution in a single session. The flexibility of this approach means we can structure our time together in a way that serves you best.

When we meet, we'll discuss what session length makes the most sense for your situation. Treatment is always customized to your needs, and we can adjust our schedule as we go.  The beauty of Accelerated Resolution Therapy is that many clients experience noticeable progress quickly, which can be highly motivating as you continue your work. Contact me to discuss scheduling options and how we can structure your Accelerated Resolution Therapy sessions for maximum benefit.

Do you offer retreats?

Yes! Retreats are offered in either a 3 hour or 6 hour period in my therapeutic office space.

Is ART covered by Insurance?

Retreats are not covered by Insurance, however regular ART sessions can be covered by participating insurances.

Why choose an ART Intensive Retreat?

An Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) retreat offers the opportunity for deep, focused healing in a condensed period of time. Unlike traditional weekly therapy sessions, an ART retreat allows you to stay fully immersed in the work, helping your brain and body process and resolve experiences more efficiently. Whether you choose a 3-hour or 6-hour retreat, sessions are thoughtfully structured with breaks every 90 minutes to support integration, rest, and nervous system regulation.

ART intensives are ideal for individuals who are seeking meaningful change but don’t have the time, capacity, or desire for ongoing weekly therapy. Many clients experience significant relief and resolution in a short amount of time, making this approach well-suited for those ready to move through stuck patterns, distressing memories, or emotional blocks more quickly. While retreats are not covered by insurance, they offer a powerful, private, and intentional space for focused healing that can create lasting change.
